Imperial German Gardes du Corps Field Gray Officer Visor Cap

The field gray wool cap has a red wool cap band and both are piped in white. The front of the cap displays officer cockades in the Prussian and national colors. The cap shows wear to the bottom edge, but the upper body of the cap is without stains or holes. The red cap band shows some tracking and a few barely visible holes to the rear of the cap. The interior of the cap has a linen lining which shows some perspiration stains, and it bears notations which are presumably the initials of the owner and his rank, abbreviated “Lt.”. The interior has a full leather sweatband which shows wear but which is complete and intact. Overall the cap is in excellent condition.
