Imperial German Bavarian General’s Uniform Tunic

$6,000.00

The tunic is constructed of high quality field gray wool with red piping on the front placket, cuffs, and rear skirts. The collar has bullion embroidered General tabs, with the shoulders carrying slip on rank boards of gold and silver bullion cord. The buttonhole has the ribbon for the 1914 Iron Cross, Second Class, while the upper left breast has four loops for a ribbon bar or a medal bar. The lower left breast has four sets of loops for badges or Orders, with one set consisting of three loops, reflecting the wear of what was likely a large breast star for an Imperial Order. The exterior of the tunic shows some light spots, and there is a small hole in the rear center just above the piped skirts. The interior of the tunic shows signs of wear, primarily on the interior lining of the collar. The interior of the tunic has a closure belt, and there is a tailor’s label in the interior collar area. Overall the tunic is very clean and it makes an excellent appearance.
