Imperial German 4th (Westphalian) Cuirassiers Regiment “Von Driesen” Enlisted Ranks Tunic

The tunic is tailored of a heavier weight field gray wool, and the tunic is exceptionally clean, showing few signs of wear or age, although there are areas which show fading of the color where the tunic was exposed to light. The tunic carries slip on shoulder straps with the regimental number “4” and with shoulder strap buttons numbered “2” for service in the second squadron of the regiment. The tunic is without stains or holes, and the interior is fully lined and contains a closure belt. The lining, like the exterior, is very clean, and the tunic is in ovrall very good condition. The 4th (Westphalian) Cuirassiers “von Driesen” Regiment was a heavy cavalry unit of the Royal Prussian Army. The regiment was formed in 1717, and it fought in the Silesian Wars, the War of the Sixth Coalition, the Austro-Prussian War, the Franco-Prussian War and World War I. The regiment was disbanded in 1919.
