The body of the leather helmet shows surface cracks and crazing – with some losses to the finish at the spike base, but the helmet exhibits a very good shape. The brass imperial eagle front plate with silver totenkopf , the front visor edge, the spike, the spike base, and the rear spine all show uncleaned patina. The helmet has a Braunschweig colors cockade as well as a national colors cockade – both in excellent condition. The leather chin strap is a replacement. The leather liner is present.
