Imperial Bavarian Machine Gun Unit Leutnant Tailored Field Gray Uniform With Sleeve Badge
$3,450.00
The uniform is comprised of the tunic and straight leg trousers. Both the tunic and the trousers are constructed of high quality field gray wool. The tunic is piped in red on the collar, down the front placket, on the cuffs, and on the rear skirt. The shoulders carry sew in boards for the rank of Leutnant with white underlay, and with each board bearing the gilt unit number of “7”. On the left sleeve is the metal badge of an Imperial German Army machine gun unit. All of the buttons are intact, bearing the crowned Bavarian lion. The uniform has a single loop on the upper left breast, with a second loop likely having been present for a short ribbon bar or a mounted medal. The interior of the tunic has the label of Bavarian tailor. The buttons show light rust, as do the three collar closure hook and eye sets. The field gray wool trousers have buttons inside the rear waist which have developed a powdered white corrosion that is present on the wool at the waist. The exterior rear of the trousers have a size adjustment belt on which the metal buckle shows rust. The trousers are field gray wool and they are piped, with the piping appearing to be carmine in color. The trousers show some wear to the seat. The uniform has some light spots and surface soiling from wear, particularly on the top of the tunic collar, but overall the uniform is quite clean and it makes an excellent appearance.
