Imperial Baden Army Special Troops Feldmutze

The feldmutze is constructed of field gray wool with a black wool cap band and red piping. The mutze is generally very clean, showing a few spots and some subtle tracking, but without holes, damage or repairs. The front displays both the national colors and the Baden colors cockades, both of which show some wear to the paint. Overall excellent condition. The black cap band indicates that the mutze was worn by “Special Troops” for Artillerie (Artillery), Pioniere (Engineers) and Verkehrstruppen (Transportation Troops). These included all Eisenbahn (Railway), Telegraphen (Telegraph), Flieger (Flying), and Luftschiffer (Balloon and Zeppelin) personnel.
