Identified WWII 101st Airborne Division Ike Jacket with British Made Paratrooper Wing

$675.00

The Ike jacket is dated in June of 1944 and it is tagged as a size 36 Regular. The collar bears clutch back “U.S.” and artillery branch collar disks. On the upper left breast is a British made paratrooper wing with open “C” catch, backed by an oval wing backer that is retained on the jacket by the pin of the wing. Below this is a pin back ribbon bar with the ribbons for the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. Underneath this is a three place clutch back ribbon bar with ribbons for the U.S. Army Good Conduct Medal, the American Campaign Medal, and the European Campaign Medal. On the left shoulder is the patch of the 101st Airborne Division, while on the lower left sleeve are four overseas service chevrons. The Honorable Discharge patch is sewn above the right pocket. The interior pocket retains the quartermaster Depot tag. In one of the jacket pockets was a card bearing the name of “Pvt. R.T. Swanson 101 Airborne”. The jacket has several holes in the lower left sleeve as well as some spots, but otherwise the jacket is in very good condition.
