Identified Spanish American War / New Jersey National Guard Medals and Insignia Group

The medals ad insignia of Spanish American War veteran John E. Glenn, reflecting his service in both the war itself and in the New Jersey National Guard, as well as his membership in the United Spanish American War Veterans and in the Military Order of the Serpent. The group includes Glenn’s United States Army Spanish American War Campaign Medal, full wrap brooch and rim numbered “5968”; Two large cap insignia for the 4th and 6th infantry regiments (the latter of which has loops of thread to secure the attachment pin at one end of the rifle); Collar insignia for the 3rd infantry regiment with “N.J.” collar insignia; three New Jersey National Guard marksman medals, one for 5 years and one for 8 years (which also has a “Sharpshooter” bar) and the third being a gilt badge dated 1897; a gilt United Spanish War Veterans cap badge and collar insignia set; a massive, multi piece, bronze “New Jersey Volunteer” Spanish American War Veteran badge;  an Army and Navy Union veteran’s badge with enamel rank straps on the ribbon; two United Spanish War Veterans badges, one a “Delegate” badge from 1931 and the other a “Visitor” badge from 1934; two Military Order of the Serpent badges; Glenn’s watch fob style photo identification employee badge; and six large eagle uniform buttons with seven small eagle uniform buttons. All items are in good condition.
