$125.00
The scrapbook was compiled by Archibald McPhail of New Jersey, who served in World War I with the 29th Division and who continued to serve after the war as a member of the New Jersey National Guard, in particular as a member of the 50th Armored Division upon its creation in 1946. The large scrapbook is approximately 12 inches by 13-3/4 inches. The scrapbook includes materials from World War I and materials relating to the exploits of the Division during the Second World War. The scrapbook contains approximately 83 original photographs of various sizes, with these photographs encompassing the period from the First World War into the 1950’s. The photographs depict training and camp life in the World War I period; Pre-World War II reunion photographs (in which at least two members of the veteran drum and bugle corps can be seen wearing their Purple Heart medals); and post-World War II activities and 29th Division veterans. The book also includes newspaper articles about the 29th Division in the Second World War and copies of unit citations from World War II.
