ID’d WWI USMC Pilot Uniform Group

Jacket shows wear to the rear collar lining, small hole at the armpit, on the back and on the shoulder strap. Matching gold now toned to silver Lieutenants rank insignia and matching officer’s EG&A collar insignia, left breast shows a 3″ gold bullion wing, nicely toned. The interior is excellent showing minor wear only, left breast has a woven letter “J” sewn on and an “A Shuman Co Boston” label.
Matching trousers show minor wear to 2 pockets, one small hole at the crotch and a hole on an interior pocket. Interior Shuman makers label is inked “F.R. Jones” / ” July/18″.
Marine officer’s overcoat is in excellent condition, shoulder straps with a matching pair of gold Lieutenant’s bars. Interior label inked “Lieut F. R. Jones USMC 12/10/18”.
Marine officer’s visor hat, wool body and band are excellent showing no wear, brown leather visor and chin strap are smooth with no crazing. Crown lining shows splits, stamped with makers name “Harry Simons Miami Fla” and inked “J.R. Jones 2nd Lt USMC”. Soft leather sweatband is partially detached.
An uncommon uniform group in untouched condition.
