ID’d Pre WWII U.S. Army Officer Campaign Hat

The hat exhibits a fine shape and is in generally good condition, with the surfaces showing a few spots and dust from storage and the underside of the rim having some tracking and spots. The hat carries an Army officer cap cord, while the original grosgrain ribbon is in place around the crown. The interior of the hat has a silk lining that is manufacturer marked. The hat is lacking a chin strap. The front of the hat crown exhibits an impression where a distinctive insignia was once worn. Named on the sweatband “Lt Thomas Scott, Battery C, 6th Regiment, Fort Winfield Scott California USA”
