German Zeppelin ZR III (Later USS Los Angeles) Plate by Rosenthal Porcelain

Approximately 8-3/8 inches in diameter. The zeppelin is rendered in light relief on the plate. The plate is in near mint condition, without chips or cracks. The reverse bears the Rosnthal porcelain mark. USS Los Angeles was a rigid airship, designated by the Zeppelin Company as “ZR-III. It was built in 1923–1924 by the Zeppelin company in Friedrichshafen, Germany, as war reparations. It was delivered to the United States Navy in October of 1924 and, after being used mainly for experimental work, particularly in the development of the American parasite fighter program, it was decommissioned in 1932.
