The porcelain plate with a relief design is approximately 8-1/4 inches in diameter. The reverse bears the maker mark of the Rosenthal porcelain company and it is in near mint condition, without chips or cracks. The USS Los Angeles was a rigid airship, originally designated the  “ZR-III”, which was built in 1923–1924 by the Zeppelin company in Friedrichshafen, Germany, as war reparations. It was delivered to the United States Navy in October 1924 and it was commissioned as the USS Los Angeles. It was decommissioned in 1932.
