German Police Officer Sword by Alcoso

The sword has an overall length in the scabbard of approximately 36 inches, with a blade length of approximately 29-1/2 inches. The blade has a matte sating finish and it is quite clean, aside from speckling to the finish on both sides at the point. The ricasso bears the trademark of the Alcosso firm. The wood grip shows wear to the black finish, but it is without chips or cracks. A copper colored police eagle is set into the obverse grip. The wire wrapping that is inset into grip is darkly toned. The guard and pommel exhibit an uncleaned patina as well as some speckling of the finish. The scabbard shows some areas of paint loss, but generally the paint is intact. Both of the scabbard fittings have an uncleaned patina, with the fitting at the scabbard throat showing some loss of the burnishing in the recesses. The scabbard upper mount is missing both of its screws.
