German Police Officer Sword by Alcoso

The sword has an overall length in the scabbard of approximately 35 inches, with a blade length of approximately 29 inches. The blade has a matte sating finish and, while it shows very minor spots but is generally quite clean. The ricasso bears the trademark of the Alcosso firm. The wood grip shows some wear to the black finish, but it is without chips or cracks. A copper colored police eagle is set into the obverse grip. The wire wrapping that is inset into grip is firm and intact. The guard and pommel exhibit an uncleaned patina as well as some speckling of the finish and spots of finish loss. The gloss black scabbard exhibits abrasions and areas of paint loss, but generally the paint is intact. Both of the scabbard fittings have an uncleaned patina, with the fitting at the scabbard throat showing loss of the burnishing in the recesses. The scabbard upper mount is missing both of its screws.
