German Army Officer Panther Head Sword by Hans Grunwald

An uncleaned army officer panther head sword, manufacturer marked under the langet by Hans Grunwald of Magdeburg. The sword has an overall length in the scabbard of approximately 39 inches, with a blade length of approximately 33 inches. the black celluloid grip is triple wrapped with wire and free of chips or cracks. The panther head pommel has red glass eyes. The entire gilt over brass hilt is uncleaned and has a dark patina. The plated blade is nearly mirror bright, with only a few minor spots. The paint on the scabbard is approximately 70% intact. Overall excellent used and uncleaned condition.
