The cap is constructed of service quality field gray wool, piped in white for the infantry branch. The leather chin strap shows some age crazing and there is a small scuff to the surface of the visor. The interior liner is intact, and the full celluloid sweat shield remains present, being marked as a size 55. The cap has a distinctive saddle shape and, while there is a spot of wear in the top surface at the rear of the cap, the cap makes a very good appearance and shows great character.
