The decoration consists of the Army 25 Year Service Cross to which the gold oak leaves device have been affixed to reflect a total of 40 years service. The fire gilt finish on the ribbon eagle, the oak leaves, and the obverse of the cross itself is excellent, showing burnished highlights. The reverse of the cross exhibits age toning and a bit of wear to the finish. There is an adhesive stain on the reverse of the ribbon.
