German Afrika Korps Prisoner of War Photographs and Postcards Group
$275.00
The group is comprised of five photographs and three real photographic postcards of Army Obergefreiter Richard Strumpel, who was a prisoner of war in the United States from 1943 to 1946 at Shelby in Mississippi. The photographs of Strumpel in uniform show him wearing a tropical army tunic as well as an M41 tropical field cap. Strumpel was undoubtedly a member of the Afrika Korps, since he status as a prisoner of war began in 1943, when American forces were engaged in combat in North Africa. The group is in very good condition.
