General Douglas MacArthur Returns an Admiring V-Mail with his Thanks and Signature

$750.00

The admiring V-Mail was sent to MacArthur “somewhere in Australia” in early 1943. The sender praised MacArthur, informed him that his daughters had just named their new puppy after him, and he asked MacArthur to reply. At the bottom of the V-Mail MacArthur wrote “Many thanks for your good wishes” and signed the note. This was then returned to the sender in an envelope of the Southwest Pacific Headquarters, with MacArthur’s Aide de Camp signing the front of the envelope as the censor. The V-Mail is approximately 8-1/2 inches by 11 inches. The document is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from “James Spence Authentication”. Very good condition.
