Unused condition. The carmine-red (almost a deep burgundy color) eagle dates from 1941, when it was ordered that town or city names be removed from police sleeve eagles. The Gemeindenpolizei, who were small town civil police hired and outfitted by city governments, and they were absorbed into the Schutzpolizei in 1942.
