Gauleiter Fritz Sauckel Personal Dinner Service Large Serving Spoon

Fritz Sauckel was the Gauleiter of Thuringia and he was appointed by Adolf Hitler as General Plenipotentiary for Labour Deployment in the Third Reich. For his role in the use of forced labor he was executed in 1946 following his trial by the International Military Tribunal at Nuremberg. The large serving spoon is approximately 8-1/2 inches long. The base of the spoon handle has a relief Thuringen eagle as used by Sauckel on his personal dinner service. The reverse of the spoon is marked “Bruckmann 90”, indicating that the spoon is silver plate. The spoon exhibits a dark uncleaned patina and a number of dents on the bowl.
