Full Size Cast P.O.W. Camp Made Army Air Force Wing

The three inch wing was cast in a German Stalag for wear by a downed American airman. The front shield bears the designation of “POW Stalag Luft 1”, with the specific designation of the Stalag not being completely clear. The reverse side of the wing has eyelets through which a mounting bar would be used for wear on a uniform. The reverse also bears the scratched initials of “TW”, as well as the scratched insignia of the 8th Air Force.
