French Heavy Cavalry Front Plate by Klingenthal – Dated 1831

The very heavy steel breast plate is approximately 12-1/2 inches wide by 15 inches tall. The interior of the breast plate is inscribed “Klingenthal”, with a date which appears to be 1831, indicating that the breast plate was made at the royal armory in Klingenthal, France. There are multiple additional markings within the armor. The armor shows uncleaned age patina and some surface rust, but overall it is in very good condition.
