French 1879 Dated Model 1822 Light Cavalry Saber

The sword has an overall length in the scabbard of approximately 43 inches, with a blade length of approximately 36 inches. The blade is generally bright, with some mossy spots on one side. The grip is covered in leather, with intact twisted brass wire. The brass guard and pommel show an uncleaned patina. The spine of the blade is arsenal marked and dated 1879. The scabbard shows wear to the finish as well as a few minor indentations, but overall the sword is in very good condition.
