Fallschirmjaeger Regiment 3 Wound Badge Award Document

An award document named to Leutnant Rudolf Lauk of the 3rd Fallschirmjaeger Regiment. The document features an early, drop tailed Luftwaffe eagle at the top and is dated April 2 of 1942 for a wound received on January 5, 1942. Interestingly, the document itself was intended for the award of the Wound Badge in black, but the “black” designation has been crossed out, and the word “silber” typed in its place, to indicate that the award was the Wound Badge in silver. The document is about 6 inches by 8 inches in size. There is a faint fold line across the center and the paper is toned with age.
