Exceptional Japanese Type 90 Army Combat Helmet

An exceptionally clean example of the Japanese Type 90 Army combat helmet. The helmet shows very few signs of use. The exterior olive brown paint would rate as about 95% intact, with the primary loss being from the Army star device on the front of the helmet (the helmet paint typically did not adhere as well to the star as it did to the helmet itself). The liner is extremely clean and the pillows behind the leather liner tongues do not appear to have ever been filled, suggesting that this helmet might well have never been issued. The full fabric chin strap is present and, like the helmet and liner, shows little sign of having been used. Overall an extremely fine example of a World War II Japanese combat helmet in a condition that is rarely encountered.
