Excellent Cased War Merit Cross First Class with Swords in Tombac Marked “62” (Kerbach & Oesterhelt of Dresden)

The War Merit Cross is in Tombac and it makes an exceptional appearance, with mirrored surfaces to the edges and to the swastika, and with the pebbled interiors of the arms retaining a frosted finish. The reverse shows wear to the finish. The underside of the coke bottle pin bears the LDO code of “62”, reflecting production by the firm of Kerbach & Oesterhelt of Dresden. The case is the style without a push-button release, with the case exhibiting signs of age and use but being complete and intact, although the lid does not close tight – as I have pictured. The lid has the image of the War Merit Cross First Class with Swords. Overall excellent condition and making a very impressive appearance.
