Edo Period Japanese Samurai Front and Back Plates
$450.00
The set is comprised of the Edo period samurai “Do” (torso armor with front plate and back plate) with the attached “Kasazuri” (the matching skirt-like sections hanging below the main chest and back plates). Both the front and back sections retain their padded linings. The armor has blue fabric “Odoshige”, the cords which tie the armor plates together and anchor the decorative knots. The interior of the front plate bears an attached paper label from the Nohi Armor Research Institute which contains the handwritten notation that the armor artifact is a “Do”. The armor shows expected signs of age and use, with attendant chips and scuffs, but the set is complete and in overall very good condition.
