Early SA Service Dagger by Karl Julius Krebs

The blade of the dagger is generally bright, while showing spots and some scratches. The motto shows good contrast. The reverse ricasso bears the trademark of the Krebs firm.  The darker brown wood grip has spots and minor dents, but the grip is without cracks or damage. The obverse side of the grip has a nickel silver eagle set into the grip, above which is the enamel SA runes button which is toned and exhibiting verdigris but which is without chips or cracks. The crossguards exhibit an uncleaned patina. The lower guard shows group mark “Sa”, for Group Sachsen. The finish of the scabbard shows wear but it is largely intact. The scabbard fittings also have an uncleaned patina. Overall the dagger is in very good condition.
