Early Named RAD Enlisted Hewer by Eichorn

$775.00

An example of the RAD Labor Service enlisted ranks hewer with the early Third Reich period trademark of the Carl Eichorn form that was used only from 1933 to 1935, making this hewer one of the earliest production pieces of this model dagger. The matte finish blade has some scratches and spots. The RAD motto remains quite clear. All of the components of the dagger such as the guard, side straps, and ferrule, appear to be of the early silvered type and in an uncleaned state. The antler grips have a fine old golden color and are free of chips or cracks. On the reverse ferrule is what appears to be the name of “Spangerberg” engraved into the metal (This could be the name of the owner or it could also be the town in which the owner served in the RAD). The black scabbard paint is approximately 80% intact. The scabbard fittings, like the dagger fittings, are uncleaned and exhibit dark patina. Missing one lower mount screw.
