Early Group Sachsen SA Service Dagger by C.G. Haenel

The dagger blade exhibits spots, scratches, typical runner marks, sharpening with the blade having uncleaned surface grime as well as stains from perhaps moisture or old grease. The burnishing is absent from the motto. The reverse ricasso bears the maker mark of the firm of C.G. Haenel of Suhl.  The wood grip shows age and use, but it is without chips, cracks, or damage. The enamel SA runes button has scratches but it is without chips or cracks. The nickel political eagle which is set into the grip similarly has an uncleaned patina and it shows fine detail. The reverse of the guard bears the “Sa” mark of SA Gruppe Sachsen. The anodized finish of the scabbard is intact, reflecting relatively minor wear. Overall very good condition.
