Dutch Waffen SS Single Decal M40 Combat Helmet by Eisenhuttenwerke

The helmet retains approximately 75 percent of the exterior field gray paint, showing the usual wear to the top of the helmet. The Dutch Waffen SS decal is approximately 90 percent intact, showing age and wear that is consistent with the helmet as a whole. The interior side of the helmet bears the mark of “ET 66”, indicating a size 66 helmet shell that was manufactured by the firm of Eisenhuttenwerke in Thale. The interior rear of the helmet is marked with the number “62”. The full liner is present, complete with drawstring, and while it shows 1 short tear, it is complete and intact. The chin strap bales are present, although the chin strap is missing. Overall an excellent example of a field worn M40 combat helmet as worn by the Dutch volunteers in the Waffen SS.
