Dove Head Cavalry Officer Sword by E. Pack & Sohne

The sword has an overall length in the scabbard of approximately 38-1/2 inches, with a blade length of approximately 33 inches. The blade is very bright, showing typical spots and minor scratches. The ricasso bears the mark of the firm of E.Pack & Sohne beneath the langet. The red felt washer is in place at the top of the ricasso. The guard, back strap and pommel exhibit a dark uncleaned patina with some verdigris. The celluloid grip is tightly triple wrapped with toned wire, with the celluloid being without chips or cracks. The black scabbard paint shows scratches and scuffs, with spots of rust in areas of paint loss, but the paint remains approximately 80 percent intact.
