Document Group for an Army Officer Nurse with Participation in Five Campaigns Including Normandy
$70.00
The documents relate to the World War II service of Lieutenant Esther R. Ranck, a nurse who served in Europe with the United States Army while assigned to the 44th Evacuation Hospital. The documents note that Lieutenant Ranck was entitled to bronze campaign stars for “Normandy”; “Northern France”; Central Europe”; “Ardennes”; and “Rhineland”. Interestingly, and curiously, although she was a nurse and assigned to an Evacuation Hospital, the documents note that Lieutenant Ranck was “qualified in map and aerial photograph reading” on May 2, 1944. The group is in very good condition.
