Desert Camouflage M42 Combat Helmet

This helmet surfaced here in Pennsylvania from the estate of a man who did house clean-outs and has never been in a collection. The M42 helmet was painted with a sand colored camouflage paint, which remains approximately 75% intact. The helmet was painted over the entire exterior and on the interior up to the liner band. The liner is complete and intact, including the drawstring. The full chin strap is present, though somewhat dry. The helmet lot number remains visible on the center of the interior rim. The manufacturer code and size stamp are not readily visible on the interior rim. A name appears to be handwritten on the liner of the helmet.
