Confederate Short Artillery Sword From Petersburg

Battlefield picked up short artillery sword with cast brass handle / guard with star pommel and “CS” on crossguard. Casting shows typical flaws. 19″ blade dark with areas of surface rust and light pitting. Metal is untouched / uncleaned “attic” condition. Blade exhibits period inked note that reads “Confederate sword from the battlefield of Petersburg” with exhibit or collection numbers “59”.
