Civil War Confederate Officer “CS” Shield Button

Two piece button, approximately 22 mm (7/8 of an inch) in diameter. The eagle on the obverse backs a shield with the letters “CS” on it. The button has a slightly flattened obverse and a loss of gilt giving it a copper color. The reverse has an intact but bent shank. There is no back mark of a manufacturer.
