Civil War 41st New York Regiment Civil War Kepi

Fine wool kepi with New York state side buttons and metal numbers for the 41st regiment. Interior sweat shield is maker marked by Baker & McKenney of 141 Grand Street in New York. Interior leather sweatband is complete and intact. Some of the stitching that connects the visor to the body of the cap has been period repaired. Some typical age crazing to the surface of the visor, unbound edge, and there is a very tiny hole on the peak of the cap on the front center seam, but overall the kepi is very clean and a terrific example of a classic piece of Civil War headgear from a regiment with an impressive record of participation in the war.
