Cased Near Mint Aluminum Luftwaffe Aerial Gunner Badge by Assmann

The badge is two piece construction, with the bright aluminum wreath bearing a burnished aluminum eagle above a cut-out swastika. The eagle is secured to the wreath by two domed rivets, and the reverse has a countersunk and machine crimped catch for the needle pin. The reverse upper wreath bears the “A” logo of the Assmann firm as well as the “D.R.G.M.” mark. The badge shows superb detail and it is in near mint condition, exhibiting only slight wear to some of the burnishing on the eagle obverse. The badge is contained within its titled case, with the lid bearing the gilt lettered designation of “Luftwaffen-Fliegerschutzen-Abzeichen”. The case interior is in exceptinal condition, showing only the impressions of the badge. The exterior of the case shows spots and minor scuffs, but overall the case is in excellent condition.
