Cased Named Legion of Merit

The decoration is suspended on a crimp brooch and it is officially hand engraved “Arthur J. Gates”. The Legion of Merit is likely a World War II period decoration that was placed on a later period ribbon and suspension for purposes of appearance. The decoration exhibits tarnish to the suspension loop and the top rear of the medal. The set includes the enamel lapel badge. The interior hook within the case is loose although not separated from the case interior.
