Cased Japanese Navy 1st Class Crow’s Nest Lookout Badge

From the excellent website “Imperial Japan Medals and Badges” dot com: “Awarded to NCOs who scouted for ships and planes while on board a vessel. Said to have been awarded to those who spotted enemy warships and submarines.” The badge is in excellent condition with fine enamel and dark, uncleaned patina. It is contained within its fitted, titled leather case, which shows expected signs of age and wear.
