The badge has a horizontal brooch pin and the reverse is maker marked by Fr. Klett of Karlsruhe. The reverse has an uncleaned patina. The badge is contained within its original square blue leather case, which shows only minor wear.
The Gau Baden Honor Badge was instituted in 1933 by Robert Wagner, the Gauleiter of Gau Baden, to commemorative the tenth anniversary of the NSDAP in Baden. This style of the badge was awarded to female members of the party, with the badge in gold for those women who had joined the party from 1923 to 1925, and this silver version for those women of the Gau who were Party members from 1926 until 1929. They must have been resident in the Baden region with an unbroken membership in the NSDAP.
