Cased and Named 11th Airborne Purple Heart with Documents and a Photograph

The Purple Heart is a slot brooch suspension and it is named “Edward R. Baddick”. It is contained within the titled black leather case together with the ribbon bar and the enamel lapel badge. The group includes a photograph of Baddick in uniform, approximately 3-1/4 inches by 5 inches. Baddick’s name and address are written on the reverse, and the photograph is accompanied by a letter from the photographer to Baddick’s family; an extract of orders dated 4 July, 1944, attesting to Baddick’s completion of airborne training; an “Honorable Discharge” wallet containing a change of address card, a pension claim card, and a newspaper clipping relating Baddick’s discharge; and a one piece 11th Airborne Division patch removed from a uniform. The documents show age, while the cased medal is in excellent condition.
