Cased 1916 Dated German Minenwerfer Shell Casings & Box

The wooden case has overall dimensions of approximately 7-3/4 inches deep by 14-1/2 inches wide by 6 inches tall. The case contains two brass German shell casings, each approximately 4-1/2 inches tall and with a base diameter of approximately 6-5/8 inches (180 millimeters). Both casing bear the date of 1916, with one having the identification of Patronenfabrik Karlsruhe and the other the markings of the Polte factory in Magdeburg. The shell casing show uncleaned patina. The wooden crate exhibits age and use but it is intact.
