Cased 1914 Iron Cross 2nd Class
The cross has excellent paint on the iron core. The silver frame has a dark, uncleaned patina. The cross is on a length of original ribbon and overall it is in very fine condition. The suspension ring is stamped with what appears to be an “800” designation and a manufacturer hallmark. The cross is contained within an off-white leather case. The recessed interior of the case holds the cross quite well, and the white silk lid bears the dark outline of the frame of the cross, indicating that the cross has been inside of the case for quite a long time. The lid of the case bears the crown and royal cypher of King George I of Greece. The case lid shows scuffing and wear.
