Camouflage Battle Damaged M1916 German WWI Combat Helmet by Eisenhuttenwerk

The exterior helmet shell shows a painted patchwork camouflage pattern of brown and tan over the field gray surface. The right rear side of the helmet has battle damage which appears to be a bullet entry hole. The interior shows some areas of surface rust. The interior side bears the mark of “ET 66”, indicating a size 66 helmet shell that was manufactured by the firm of Eisenhuttenwerk in Thale. The helmet hakes a very good appearance and it exhibits great character.
