British Royal Berkshire Militia Officer Bell Top Shako
A circa 1840 Victorian Era bell top shako for an officer of the Royal Berkshire Militia. The shako is approximately 8 inches tall with a black fur band around the circumference of the helmet and silver bullion tape around the base of the helmet body and around the crown. The worn interior leather sweatband is lacking half of its length. The front leather visor has some relatively minor loss of the patent finish. The rear visor and the chin scales and plume are not present.
