Boxed, Named and Numbered WWI 28th Division Purple Heart

The medal is on a split brooch suspension, and it is officially named to “Stiney Shimkus” of the 112th Infantry Regiment, who was wounded in action on October 1, 1918, while serving in the 28th Division. The edge of the medal is numbered “43603”, which corresponds to the number written on the label of the American Emblem Company box. The medal is in excellent condition. The box shows age and has tape repairs. The medal is accompanied by a copy of the Adjutant General award card.
