Attributed WWI British Brodie Helmet with Painted 28th Division Insignia

$250.00

The helmet retains much of the exterior sand infused finish, showing typical scuffs, spots and abrasions, with a few minor indentations. One side bears the large painted insignia of the 28th Division. The top center of the helmet shows what appears to be a small red painted “T”. The interior liner is intact, as is the leather chin strap. The interior rim bears the British manufacturer code of  “D/F 76”, reflecting manufacturer by the firm of James Dixon & Sons using steel from Thomas Firth and Sons. Tucked inside of the liner is a card attributing the helmet to Samuel Chadwick of the 109th Machine Gun Battalion of the 28th Division. Overall very good field used condition.
